The Divided Kingdoms

Salmul the legendary leader of the noble warriors of Harmut were fighting a ferocious battle against Zaratuma the Dark Mystic and emperor of the eastern kingdoms.

Salmul and his army had been fighting bravely all day long but they were severely outnumbered and there will to fight was fading rapidly.

Zaratuma was after driving them to the edge of a deep swallowing gorge.

They were surrounded and the only place to go was over the edge.

Some of the warriors jumped into the gorge rather than face Zaratuma army as they were notorious for utter ruthlessness.

Salmul the son of a famous football was not one give up a fight easily especially after what Zaratuma had done to his parents all those years ago.

It was the year 2297 and all was peaceful between the eastern and western kingdoms of Harmut.

They had traded openly and had been at peace for almost 250 years.

Salmul was looking at television when he was only eight years old and he saw on the news that Daratuma Zaratumas brother and the noble emperor of the eastern kingdoms had been killed, he remembers seeing Zaratuma appearing in television speaking of his sadness of his brothers death.

There were rumors going around that Zaratuma was responsible for his death.

Zaratuma was always jealous of Daratuma.

Zaratuma was first in line to the throne but he was reckless and hot headed so his father said in his will that Daratuma should rule the kingdoms.

Zaratuma was furious at this great injustice and one night got a few of his followers to kidnap Daratumas wife, they drugged her and removed her womb so as there would be no chance of an heir for Daratuma.

Daratuma could never prove who done it and even if he could he was a caring man and probably wouldn’t be able to believe that his own brother would do such an evil thing.

When Daratuma died Zaratuma called a meeting between him and Lazelle the emperor of the western kingdoms.

Little did Lazelle know that this was a trap and when they arrived at the meeting place high in the Tramador Mountains they weren’t met by talks but by a death squad employed by Zaratuma.

When the news of their deaths got back to the western kingdoms Zaratuma declared war.

They invaded the day of Lazelle’s memorial service which included a testimonial match, in which Salmuls father was playing.

The game was on for about 20 minutes when Zaratumas army burst through the gates of the stadium.

They started to slaughter everyone showing absolutely no mercy women, children Zaratuma didn’t care all he wanted was complete control over all the kingdoms of Harmut.

Zaratuma who was an extremely powerful mystic and capable of levitation and even flight was in the stands killing with a demonic smile on his face when Salmuls father went to attack him but Zaratuma was much too fast and drove his sword into Salmuls fathers torso killing him instantly.

Salmul and his mother were standing about ten feet away and had witnessed the whole.

Zaratuma looked over in their direction and spotted Salmul’s  mother she was well known as she was Ratera the Pearl Sorcerer.

Zartuma looked over at her and said “You shall join your husband in the afterlife”

Ratera turned to Salmul and removed the Pearl medallion she wore around her neck and handed it to him and said “when there is no other way hold this up and help will come, but be wise my son, it shall only work once, Now run! And don’t look back.”

That was the last time Salmul had seen his mother alive he had to go identify her body a few days later after Zaratumas army had been drove back to the eastern kingdoms.

Back on the battlefield Salmul then realized that now was the time for the medallion.

“What does it do he wondered?”

It was engraved with a woman with wings it almost looked like an angel and it had bright pearls around the outside it reminded Salmul of his mother but there was no time for reminiscing, his men were dying.

So as he let out a mighty roar he held the medallion up to the sky, it began to illuminate so brightly it blinded Salmul and all around him.

The battle cries and clash of swords all fell silent and a bitterly cold wind began to blow with fury.

Suddenly out of the heavens appeared Polaria goddess of Ice.

She held up her hands high in the air and with flick of her hands sharp spears of ice began to rain down on Zaratuma’s army they were annihilated in minutes and with that she was gone back up through the clouds as quickly as she came.

Salmuls army rejoiced while Salmul looked for Zaratumas body, he couldn’t see it anywhere “he couldn’t have survived that, could he?” he thought.

It was then away in the distance there was a silhouette of a man hovering over a hill it was him the war was not over as long as Zaratuma was alive Harmut would not have peace that was one thing Salmul was sure of.
